Discovering Dubai In Just 48 Hours

Dubai, with its balance breathtaking beaches and ultra-high rises, is undoubtedly set apart from the rest of UAE’s seven emirates.

The city’s spectacular offering of shopping malls, world class restaurants, art galleries and adventure sports and activities cater to the varying interests, making it a perfect holiday destination for families.

A short trip to Dubai might induce panic (How do we see it all?), but if spent right, even a weekend or 48 hours are enough to explore the splendours of Dubai.

As a first step, just hire a car in order to easily navigate the city. After all, car rental in Dubai is a highly convenient affair allowing you to choose from a variety of makes and models.

Once you have rented your car, here’s a list of places to see and things to do to enjoy a comprehensive ‘Dubai’ experience within a short amount of time:

Enjoy a hot air-balloon ride: The ideal time to go for a hot air balloon ride in Dubai is during sunrise. Enjoy magnificent views of the glimmering desert city against its brilliant coastline.

Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa: The queues at these places might seem tiring to some, but the views that they offer are one hundred percent worth the wait. Visit at least one of the two if you’re running out of time, though!

Dubai Mall: Housing a three storey aquarium amongst other attractions, the Dubai Mall is grandiose at its best. With the best of shopping and the best of entertainment on offer, it is the epitome of luxury. Experience the true Dubai ‘glamour’ with a visit to this mall.

Dune Bashing: The deserts of Dubai are home to some of the world’s largest sand dunes. Going dune bashing can be a fun and memorable family adventure.

JBR Beach: Arguably the most popular beach of the city, here you can spend a laidback afternoon with your family, and enjoy local flavours and events.

Dubai Creek: Away from the glitz and glamour of the city, Dubai Creek is a place where you can relax and unwind. Hire a water taxi or an abra and ferry the backwaters in leisure.

Gold Souk: A short distance away from the Dubai Creek, lies the Gold Souk. Walk through its narrow lanes and enjoy the old world charm of the city.  With shops of gold, silver, diamond and other precious stones, the market collection is mesmerising to say the least.
