Politician

People love to hate the people who represent them in government. And even if it looks like a politician can never do anything right without getting tons of complaints, it is still worth thinking about this position as a possible job. After all, these are the people who have a say in how the country is run, and therefore have major potential when it comes to making some very big changes! There are various benefits of becoming a politician, but one is certainly that you voice matters. And so does your vote in parliament! But you will always be learning new skills as you really need to be an all-rounder. But, at the end of the day, it’s worth becoming a politician as you can serve the people and help them create a better life for themselves!

Doctor

Think you can cut it as a doctor? If so, then it’s worth looking into starting the training for this rewarding career path. Sure, it will take quite a while to get through all the studying and training (which is something that you can’t get around, by the way) but qualifying as a doctor will be so very worth it. So, how exactly do doctors make a big difference in the world? Well, for starters, they can help their patients get better and make a full recovery. And for those people who suffer from long-term or chronic health conditions, doctors are always there for them and can help them fight any pain and uncomfortable symptoms. The main purpose of being a doctor is to make the lives of their patients a whole lot better. If you have what it takes to work your way up to being a doctor, you better get started now – you’ve got a long path ahead!

Support Worker

If you don’t have enough time to dedicate to becoming a doctor, then there are always some other very worth positions in the health industry that you might like to try. For instance, if you study the Ultimate Medical Academy’s Health and Human Services Program, you will be able to become a family support worker or a social services worker and help families in your local community. There are different types of support workers, and each performs slightly different tasks. For instance, there are support nurses who work with patients in their own homes once they have come home from hospital. In this case, the support worker helps the patient get used to being home again and looking after themselves. Social services workers work closely with people who have just had a baby to ensure that they know how to look after it correctly. They also work together with parents who have recently divorced to ensure that their child is still being correctly cared for.

Priest

Another way you could make a big difference in the world is by getting touch with your spiritual side and joining the church as a priest or vicar. Lots of people find that spreading the word of God is a great way to reach out to people who are in need. As a priest, you will have to hold sermons in church as well as speaking to members of your congregation on a one to one basis. Many people find that speaking to their local priest or vicar can help to bring them solace, especially during times of need. Many priests find that their work is very rewarding as they can see very clearly just how useful their position in the wider community is. Plus, being a priest isn’t just sermons and one on one consultations! You will also be able to get involved with many community events and, as someone who has a privileged position in society, you will probably be invited to many charity dinners and balls as well as smaller community focused events, like festivals and fetes.

Missionary

Of course, you don’t have to stay at home if you want to help people find God and peace of mind. You could always sign up to be a Christian missionary and travel to far-off places to spread the word of God. Missionaries mainly work in deprived areas of African and South America these days and work together with the locals to create better towns and villages. For instance, a missionary might work with a deprived community to help them build a school and create an education system. Some also help improve water systems in towns and villages by building wells and helping to provide a fresh supply of water. So, as you can see, being a missionary isn’t just about spreading the word of God. It’s also about trying to do the best for the people who you travel to work with!

Teacher

Another job that can make a big difference in your wider community is teaching. In fact, this is the perfect job if you love kids and think that they are the future. You will get so many opportunities to help shape their future and help them become the best adult that they could be. Plus, you will also be responsible for many children’s education and development. Lots of teachers are very proud that they have this responsibility and are able to help shape how children view the world. Becoming a teacher is very easy, even if you are already in a completely different career at the minute. In fact, this could work out to your benefit as people with lots of work experience make great teachers as they can pass on many life lessons to their pupils and students. If you are still at college at the minute, you will be able to join a postgraduate teaching course once you finish. Many of these courses are also open to those who have been graduated for a few years so anyone with a degree or higher-education qualification can begin their teaching studies!

Volunteer

Another way you can make your mark on the local community and make some great changes is to volunteer. The easiest way to do this is to join a local charity. There are many that focus on social issues such as homelessness and the upkeep of community buildings and areas. Once you sign up with a charity, they will let you know the various ways you can help them. Each charity will have its different needs. Some will even need volunteers in their back office to help out with the day to day running of a charity. So if you have skills and expertise in HR, finance, or sales and marketing, you can probably be put to good use on office-based task. No matter how you volunteer, every little helps to make a big difference!

Lawyer

You might not realize it, but lawyers and attorneys actually do some good stuff for the community at times! Ignore the bad reputation that Hollywood has given them (we’ve all seen movies with the tired trope of the sleazeball lawyer!) as lots of lawyers do pro bono work for people who need their help and services the most. For examples, a lawyer might offer their services for free to a family who are struggling to pay court and other legal fees. This can be a great help to families who is struggling financially and can’t get financing for all the fees. The best way to become a lawyer is to start studying at college. Once you graduate, you will need to find an internship at a law office and, once this has been completed, you will be a qualified lawyer! But it’s also possible to start your law studies later in life. You just need the time to complete them and the money to pay for them.

Changing career through your life can be a welcome change of direction for many people. And you can also use it to make the world a much better place for everyone!
