Garfield Burford
Garfield Burford has been a broadcast journalist with CVM
Television in Jamaica since February, 2003, fulfilling a
long-time passion to report the news.
Even in his early stories at the station, he showed the acumen to thoroughly cover issues of national, regional and international significance. After a year at the station, his areas of focus narrowed to politics, finance and pressing social and development issues including HIV/AIDS.
At the age of 24, Garfield's short career was garlanded by the journalist of
the year award from the press association of Jamaica. This encapsulated the
respect and admiration with which he has been regarded by his peers in the
competitive and dynamic Jamaican media landscape. He is now one of CVM's parliamentary
reporters and is interested in doing more investigative reports.
He is delighted to be one of the co-hosts of the LIVE UP show, a pioneering media venture in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the region.
