Why Pack Versatile Clothing When You Travel

As a frequent traveller, you end up packing a lot. As a result, you get very used to it. At first, packing is quite stressful. You dither wandering what to pack, how to get it all in and worrying you will accidently go over the luggage allowance.

Eventually, that all goes away, you know exactly what you are doing and feel perfectly comfortable travelling halfway across the world with just cabin luggage. It takes time to get to this stage, but once you do, you wonder what all the fuss was about and never look back.

There are several light packing tips I could share with you, but by far the most important one is to pack multi-purpose clothing, whenever possible. When you pack like this you save space and weight. However, perhaps more importantly packing in this way helps you to create a more flexible wardrobe.

Giving yourself a bigger choice of outfits makes you feel more comfortable, and means you will always look good in your travel snaps. You will be ready for everything, including the chance to say yes when someone nice asks you on a date.

Some examples of multi-purpose clothing

Multipurpose clothing can be used in a variety of ways. This range of affordable swimming costumes is a perfect example of what I mean. As well as traditional swimwear, this retailer sells blouson sets, swim dress and tankinis.

These are fantastic for the beach, but work just as well for an evening out. This is especially case for the blouson top sets. The light floaty tops can easily be worn separately. They look especially good when paired with shorts or a skirt, and the fact that the bottom layer of fabric is stretchy means that it acts as control wear and smoothes out any bulges.

Reversible clothes

Reversible clothes are also a good option. The allow you to pack two tops or trousers into the space you would normally be using for one item. Because of the way they have to be made, they are very sturdy items of clothing. Usually they feature double stitched seams, and are made from fabrics that are heavy enough not to be see-through. This is important because you are going to be wearing this type of clothing practically every week. When you travel light, it is always a good idea to pack good quality items of clothing that are made to last, and are easy to keep clean.

Colour co-ordinated clothes

Even if you decide not to buy multi-purpose or reversible clothes, it is still possible to fit everything you need for most types of vacation into hand luggage. You just need to pack outfits that you can mix and match. Of course, if you take this option for a long trip you will have to be prepared to wash as you go, which means it is a good idea to choose lightweight clothes. This type of clothing is easier to get dry when you are staying in a hotel, hostel or bed and breakfast accommodation.

If you want to be able to travel light for your next trip, all you need to do is to remember the tips outlined above.
