How to prepare for a wedding during the Christmas season
So you have a wedding coming up through the Christmas season. Whilst it’s a great time to have a wedding as all the family is gathered around, it can also be extremely stressful. If your big day is coming up then here are some top tips on how to prepare during these holidays.
Pick a good location
Seems obvious to say pick a good wedding location but if it’s during peak time and you don’t want to be dealing with crowds then finding a suitable location is key. Stay away from popular touristy spots outdoors or even find a beautiful indoor hotel like BellCity’s Melbourne weddings. Even though it’s summer it’s still an Australian summer so be sure to make sure that you venue has different weather options as you don’t want your day ruined by a storm or sudden downpour.
Secure your photographer early
The photos from the wedding probably have to be one of the most important things to consider on the big day, as these will capture the memories you will keep for a lifetime. Over the holidays period photographers are super busy not only with wedding but also other big events during this time. So if you have a particular photographer in mind you want to book, make sure you get in there early to secure them for your big day. Also go in with a pre plan of the locations you want to take your photos and just double check there aren’t any big events on at the same time. You don’t want to be getting some city shots with a Santa Parade in the background.
Book accommodation early
If you are having an out of town wedding or you have lots of family coming into town for celebrations, lock down your accommodation early to get the best prices. If there is quite a lot of people coming in from out of town or the entire wedding is out of town, consider hiring houses through sites like Air BnB.
Book your hair and makeup in early
Make and hair is something that completely books out over the holiday time. Leading up to Christmas you need to have booked an appointment with your hairdresser in July just to secure a spot. So to make sure you have someone to look after you and your bridesmaids get in early. Last thing you want is to find out you can’t get an appointment for the big day.
Remember having your wedding over the holiday season can be great; it just takes a little bit of preparation beforehand. Though no matter where you pick, or what you plan your wedding day will be magical. Wishing you all the best.
