Make A Quick Buck From Your Sofa!

While most of us have fairly steady incomes which we can rely on for all of life’s needs, sometimes chance throws you an unexpected curveball, and you can wind up in a position where you need money fast. Understandably, you may not want to get into your overdraft or take out any quick-turnaround loans. Fortunately, there are a range of ways you can make a quick buck when you need it, without ever having to leave the house…

Websites that Pay

The internet is a treasure trove of websites that will allow you to make money. No, they probably won’t give you the means to quit your job and work from home and yes, many of them are going to be scams. However, if you apply a little diligence and do your research, there are various sites that will pay you for taking surveys, shopping, testing new products, and other things. If you’ve got a marketable skill, like graphic design or copywriting, there are a huge range of freelancing “mills” where you can market this skill to business owners. Exercise caution, research anything that seems too good to be true, and soon enough you’ll find a site that has what you’re looking for.

Make a PPI Claim

PPI, or payment protection insurance, was a booming industry through the nineties and early noughties. It was designed to help people meet payments on credit cards, mortgages and so on if and when they became chronically ill or lost their job. However, countless people were miss-sold this type of insurance, being self-employed or unemployed, and therefore unable to make a claim. This method isn’t for everyone, but for many people, PPI claims can be the answer to their money problems. First of all, dig out the relevant documents or call the companies that were involved, and check if you ever had PPI applied to a loan in your name. Then, establish if it was miss-sold to you. If someone implied you needed it to take out the loan, or it wasn’t made clear that it was optional, you may have a fairly solid claim on your hands. The compensation you’ll get out of the claim won’t be a permanent solution, but it can certainly be a big help when times are hard!

Sell Your Stuff!

Ever since the dawn of online shopping, it’s been swelling in popularity, and countless people use sites like Amazon and eBay on a daily basis to buy and sell items. Like most of us, you probably have at least a few things in your home that you don’t really want anymore, but that someone else will pay for! After setting yourself up with an account, do your best to frame your items in an attractive way. Take good pictures, be honest with the details, be respectful to the users you communicate with, and always ship on time. The sites themselves need to get their cut, and some things will be more popular than others. However, selling a few bits and pieces online can be a great way to put money in your account.
