Supercharge Your Life With This Simple Strategy

Have you ever wondered if there’s more to life than your current everyday existence? Do you feel that somehow you lost your way and settled for less than you deserve? These feelings of dissatisfaction and slight unease are not uncommon. Fortunately, for many people, there is a simple strategy you can employ to live the life you’ve always wanted.

You can split your life up into four rough areas. This may differ for some people, depending on what is important to them. But on the whole you can separate your life into career, finances, family & social life, and passion. The strategy is very simple. All you have to do is analyse each of these four areas. Apply the same techniques as you would apply to a business problem. To help, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Am I happy in this area of my life? If not, why not?

  • How do I want to feel?

  • If my life changed miraculously overnight, how would it look? What areas would be removed or improved?

  • What is missing?

  • What do I need to do in order to be happy?

It’s a simple process but requires you to be completely honest with yourself. You need to dig deep in order to make change happen.

Career

After asking yourself the above questions, the important thing to note is that it is never too late to make a change. It’s easy to get caught up in the everyday minutiae, but if you take a step back, you’ll realise that you can be whatever you want to be. It may take time but that time will pass anyway, so why not spend it working towards something you really want?

Possible Solutions:

  • Speak to your boss about a promotion.

  • Take some evening classes to improve your skills and knowledge.

  • Look for jobs to match your skills.

  • Go part-time and fill the rest of your time with things you enjoy.

  • Start your own business.

Finances

The majority of people are unhappy with their finances. This varies from a mild feeling of wanting to have a little more money to spend on holidays, clothes, or a new home, etc. to struggling to get by. Whichever camp you fall into, there are a few short-term fixes you can apply to boost your income:

  • Check for any unclaimed PPI. This could be an unexpected and welcome boost to your income.

  • Review all of your outgoings and get rid of anything that is no longer useful to you. For example, subscriptions to clubs or magazines that you’re no longer invested in.

  • Go through all your bills and check for better deals. For example, by switching your energy provider, you could save hundreds each year.

  • Make a list before you do your grocery shopping to reduce your spend.

Family & Social Life

Life is too short to be in relationships that don’t make you happy or don’t fulfill you in some way. If you recognise this in the relationship with your partner or friends, it’s time to take action. In some cases, this may mean distancing yourself from negative influences. But in most cases, problems can be worked through. You need to identify what those issues are first, and then take appropriate steps with the people involved to fix them.

Your Passion

If you make just one change in your life, make it this one. Find your spark. What excites you? What fires you up more than anything else? What do you look forward to each day? Once you’ve found this, it can improve your life in so many ways. Happier people, on the whole, tend to be healthier, less stressed, and live productive and fulfilled lives.
