Furniture Trends for 2015

2015 is almost halfway through – and up until now, we cannot say that we have been anything but happy with how trends unfolded before our eyes this year. Of course, furniture and home décor did not escape the new wave of trends so if you are interested in finding out what home décor designers have found attractive this year, check out with the following tips because they will surely inspire you!

The Return of the 50s and 60s

We don’t know what exactly pushed the industry in this direction (maybe the grand finale of Mad Men?) – but we’re definitely happy with the switch. This year, furniture has made a bit of time travelling, returning to the wonderful cubic shapes of the 50s and 60s. If you want to add just a touch of these decades to your home, go for tables, chairs and armchairs designed to be torn out of the mid-century home décor fashion. They will look wonderful both when combined with more modern elements and when combined with other vintage styles too!

Bye, Bye Matching Furniture

It’s been quite a while since we’ve said good bye to perfectly matching clothes – so why would furniture make any exception from this new “rule”? This year, furniture is as mismatched as you want it to be – and this can only be good news for those of you who really want to exercise your creativity on the way you furnish your homes. Furniture items are very eclectic in 2015 – they are combined in terms of style, inspiration and even color, so they will definitely give you that freedom of creativity you crave for. Whether you want an eccentric, modern table or something more quirky, this is the year for it.

Welcome Back, Wallpapers

Wallpapers have been brought to life in 2015 – and this means that they’ll breathe a whole new life into your bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens as well. There’s a myriad of new twists to old wallpaper styles out there – so it’s highly unlikely that you will not find something to fall madly in love with!

Fifty Shades of… Blue, Olive, Orange and Grey

Without any kind of doubt, blue is one of the most commonly encountered colors in home décor fashion this year. The best part of this trend is that it comes in a variety of shades (maybe not fifty of them, but nevertheless, plenty of them). Royal, navy, pastel, teal – you name it and 2015 will put it on a “plate” for your furniture items. You don’t have to go all-blue (although that’s not excluded) if you don’t want it. A beautiful blue chair, a pretty blue coffee table or a cute blue cushion will surely add a lot to your home’s décor.

And if blue is just not your thing (or if you want to mix it with something at least equally fabulous), don’t worry, 2015 has graced us with a variety of other colors too. 60’s-inspired olive is one of them, and so is orange. As for grey, this is the it nude color this year so if you want to go for something really trendy and really easy to personalize, don’t forget about it!
