Easter Holidays in the UK

Easter is just around the corner. In addition to its religious importance, this holiday also has an extensive commercial side, as evidenced by the appearance of Easter eggs, cute bunnies, baskets and mounds of candies such as jelly beans, marshmallow chicks and chocolates.

Supermarkets, shopping malls and other industries take advantage of this holiday to market their products and services. Even mobile apps and online games have their own Easter offers and promotions. Bingo Pop, a bingo app on iOS, features their very own Easter Egg Hunt, where you can use an egg dauber. Online bingo game CheekyBingo via their Twitter account is busy promoting their easter offering under #Eggstravaganza. This Easter promo, which runs from April 1 to 28, is loaded with exciting games and fabulous prizes.

Even major attractions in the UK are hosting events and festival in celebration of Easter. If you happen to be in Britain, here are just some of the events that are worth checking out with your family:

Kew Gardens Easter Egg hunt and face painting
( April 20, 9:30am to 1:00pm)
Here, you can collect tokens while walking around the garden. Hand your tokens to the Easter bunny and you’ll receive a chocolate egg. Kids will also enjoy the Willy Wonka-themed face painting session.

Spring into Easter, Kent
(April 5 to 21, 10am to 6pm)
This is for people who love farm animals. At Kent Life Heritage Farm Park, families would get the chance to meet and feed newborn calves, chicks, goats, lambs and piglets. Guests can also enjoy other activities such as quad biking, tractor rides and water-zorbing.

Family Day at Exeter Racecourse
(April 15)
Highlights include a mechanical horse named Equicizer which kids can ride on, Pennywell Farm animals, Korakor the retired racehorse and the RSPB’s interactive stand.

Mammoth Poo Detectives, National Museum of Scotland
(April 7 to 11)
If you are tired of the usual Easter activity, this next attraction is for you. Families can enjoy a workshop with scientists as they use poo clues to locate mammoths. These ice age explorations and hands-on messy challenges are all inspired by the museum’s Mammoths of the Ice Age exhibit.

Moutain bike trails, Carmarthenshire
(April 12-27)
Want to let off some steam this Easter? Go biking at the MudTrek Mountain Bike Breaks in Brechfa Forest. They are offering 20 percent off on bike hire throughout the holidays.
